A Future with Hope. A single yellow flower grows from a cracked log in a desolate field.

A Future with Hope

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11, NRSV)

Jeremiah’s words were spoken to a people in exile, displaced, discouraged, and unsure if God still saw them. And into that despair, God speaks: I know the plans I have for you. Not just random hope, but a future with hope.

When the world feels unstable, we cling to the truth that God’s purposes are not derailed by disaster. God’s plans are still unfolding, even in exile, even in crisis, even when we feel forgotten. The hope God offers is not naïve; it is rooted in God’s character and in God’s covenant love.

Take a moment to look back: when has God been faithful in your past? Write down a short list and keep it where you see it often. Let those memories become evidence that your future is in good hands.
