A Grateful People Living Thanks Together

Gratitude doesn’t start in our heads; it starts in our bodies. Before we ever form the words “thank you,” we pause. We breathe. We notice. Maybe we even place a hand on our heart and remember that we’re here, that we’re loved, that God is present.

This kind of embodied gratitude is not just a spiritual exercise; it’s an act of resistance in a culture of hurry, scarcity, and anxiety. Gratitude grounds us in enough. Gratitude reminds us that our identity is not in what we lack, but in the One who loves us unconditionally.

As we move into this Thanksgiving season, we invite you simply to begin to notice. Notice where God has met you this week. Notice what brings you life. And maybe whisper a quiet thanks.

Try This:

Pause once a day this week to name one thing that made you feel alive, safe, or seen. It could be a meal, a conversation, a song, or even a moment of stillness. Write it down or say it aloud.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
Psalm 107:1

In our 6-week series, Grateful People: Living Thanks Together, we’re reflecting on gratitude, generosity, and stewardship throughout the Thanksgiving season.

This is the first post in the series. Join us each week for additional thoughts and reflections on what it means to be a Grateful People who are Living Thanks Together.
