Love Moves In and Stays
Joseph nearly walks away. But an angel intervenes: Don’t be afraid. Name him Jesus. He is Emmanuel, God with us (Isaiah 7:10-16). Love doesn’t stand far off; it draws close, even to the messiest places (Matthew 1:18-25).
At Bethel, we celebrate this love that is not abstract but incarnate. Advent tells us God does not just love us from a distance. God chooses to live among us, as us (Romans 1:1-7).
