Led by God’s Goodness
In this week’s lectionary readings, Psalm 84 celebrates the joy of dwelling near God, whose presence is a place of strength, refreshment, and blessing. Jeremiah envisions God gathering the scattered, restoring their joy, and leading them beside streams of grace. In Ephesians, Paul praises God for choosing and blessing us in Christ, and prays that believers would receive wisdom and enlightenment to know the hope of God’s call. In Matthew, God warns Joseph, protects the Holy Family, and guides them along unexpected paths that fulfill divine promise. Together, these readings show a God who welcomes us near, gathers us home, blesses us richly, and guides our steps in mercy.
As this year begins, where do you sense God inviting you to follow God’s leading more closely?
