The Promise Draws Near: Waiting with Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love

December 7, 2025 | Second Sunday in Advent

Peace is Not Polite. It’s Transformative.

John the Baptist arrives shouting, not whispering (Matthew 3:1-12). The peace of Christ disrupts the status quo (Romans 15:4-13). Isaiah dreams of a world where enemies lie down together (Isaiah 11:1-10).

At Bethel, we believe peace is not simply the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of Christ’s reign. To prepare the way is to make room in our hearts and lives for God’s justice, mercy, and reconciliation.

What in your life needs to be made straight or smoothed out so God’s peace can come in?
