What We Have, We Hold Lightly

Gratitude opens our hearts. Stewardship opens our hands.

As we shift from reflecting on what we’re thankful for to how we live that thankfulness out, we begin to see all we’ve been given — our time, resources, energy, and care — as gifts to be shared.

At Bethel, we believe stewardship is not about giving because we should, but because we can. Because God has entrusted us with so much, not to hold tightly, but to release for the good of others.

One of the primary ways we practice this is through financially supporting the ministry of the church. Your giving sustains more than lights and livestreams; it empowers hospitality, discipleship, worship, and community outreach. Every gift, no matter the size, becomes part of a greater story: one of justice, compassion, and hope for all.

Our calling is not to accumulate, but to participate in the flourishing of the whole community. We are invited to hold what we have lightly, and to give with open hands and full hearts.

Reflection

  • What has God placed in my care—my finances, time, or attention—that I can offer in faith?
  • How might giving regularly to the church become part of my spiritual practice of gratitude?

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
1 Timothy 6:18
