Beloved and Sent

In this week’s lectionary readings, Psalm 29 proclaims the majestic voice of God—powerful, splendor-filled, and faithful over all creation. Isaiah describes God’s chosen servant who brings justice gently, shining as a light for the nations. In Acts, Peter announces that Jesus, anointed by the Holy Spirit, brings peace and freedom to all. In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus is baptized, the heavens open, and the Spirit descends as God declares, “This is my Son, the Beloved.” Together, these readings reveal the God who names us, fills us with the Spirit, and sends us into the world as bearers of Christ’s justice and peace.

What part of God’s calling on your life needs renewed courage or clarity this week?
