Maundy Thursday. Love, service & remembrance

April 2, 2026 | Maundy Thursday

Love, Service, and Remembrance

On Maundy Thursday, we remember the final night Jesus shared with his disciples before the cross. Around a table, he broke bread, shared the cup, and gave a new commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13:34)

This is a quiet, intimate moment in the story of Holy Week. It is a night marked not by spectacle, but by humility – Jesus kneeling to wash feet, offering himself in bread and cup, and preparing his followers for what is to come.

As we gather, we step into that upper room story together. We remember that love is not abstract – it is lived, embodied, and given for others. Maundy Thursday invites us to slow down, to receive, and to consider how we are called to love in the same way.
