Evelyn House, Stoughton, MA
One of our teens, after a season exploring what it means to be a Jesus-follower in this world, felt the Lord’s leading upon his heart to create a mission effort to folks in our community. He knew that God was calling him, but wasn’t quite sure where God might lead.
Following conversations and prayerful discernment, the Bethel youth group felt led to support the mission of Father Bill’s and Mainspring, a local nonprofit that supports families and individuals experiencing what it means to be unhoused. They identified the Evelyn House, an emergency shelter that supports as many as 16 families facing homelessness, as the work they feel most called to support.
There are currently two active projects:
Storage Shed Project
Together with the teens from the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene youth group, Bethel’s teens are working to provide a storage shed for Evelyn House, where kids and their families will be able to store bikes, toys, and other outdoor items. They are currently raising funds for materials (please consider donating) and will partner with YouthBuild and Friends of the Homeless for the construction.

Library Project
In partnership with Community Chapel in Nashua, NH, Bethel’s teens are collecting age-appropriate children’s book donations that will create a library space at Evelyn House.
