Bethel Church exterior/interior

Special Announcement & Invitation

Dear Friends of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Quincy, Massachusetts,

In 1947, the Bethel Beach Church of the Nazarene was planted in the Germantown neighborhood of Quincy. For nearly 80 years, individuals and families have been shaped by the life and ministry of this congregation. The people of Bethel have exemplified the way of Christ through worship, study, fellowship, and service, often in ways quite unique to this community.

Throughout these years, God’s faithfulness has been evident in the lives impacted by Bethel’s ministry – neighbors, those in need, children and teens, college students, young adults, and many others. Even today, people whose lives were shaped by Bethel are spread across the world, serving in ministries of compassion and justice, education, social services, pastoral leadership, as well as many other vocational calls.

Now, this long season of ministry is coming to an end. Bethel Church of the Nazarene will conclude its regular gatherings as a congregation. On the weekend of November 21–22, 2026, the remaining Bethel community will gather for a final Fall Harvest Dinner of Gratitude on Saturday evening and a final service of worship on Christ the King Sunday morning.

This is an invitation to any and all who have been part of the Bethel community over these many years to join us for this time of remembrance, gratitude, and worship.

Harvest Dinner of Gratitude – Saturday, November 21 @ 5:30 PM (RSVP please)
Christ the King Sunday Worship – Sunday, November 22 @ 10:00 AM

Our hearts are heavy. These past few years have brought significant loss and change to our community. The closure of Eastern Nazarene College was monumental. Other losses and transitions along the way have also deeply affected the people and relationships that have made Bethel what it is. In the midst of it all, we continue to trust in God’s faithfulness.

Whether Bethel has been part of your life recently or years ago, you are invited to join us. Your presence would be a gift to us as we remember and give thanks together.

If you cannot attend, we invite you to share any photographs you may have that would help us remember and celebrate Bethel. We would also welcome a short video greeting (less than one minute) sharing a memory or word of encouragement. Please send any files to bethelnaz41@gmail.com.
